About Stoats & Weasels

Stoats & Weasels is a Brighton-based greeting card brand created by graphic designer Lisa Bamford, with over 300 funny, colourful and design-led cards for all sorts of occasions.

The range is packed with bold colour, playful illustration, typography, terrible puns and an ever-growing collection of slightly ridiculous animals. Some cards are sweet, some are silly and some are a little bit saucy, but the aim is always the same: to make people smile.

Stoats & Weasels cards are stocked by independent shops and national retailers across the UK, with a growing number of stockists in the US too. Lisa’s designs have been shortlisted and reached the finals of The Henries, and in 2026 Stoats & Weasels won a Louie Award in the US for one of its bestselling humour cards.

All cards are printed in the UK on FSC-certified board and come with a bright yellow envelope. They’re bold, funny and a bit daft, which is pretty much how Lisa likes them.

About Lisa

I’m a graphic designer, graduating from Kingston University many moons ago, and I’m very lucky to still enjoy what I do and work with some lovely clients. But there’s only so much silliness you can sneak into a design brief. And I do rather love silliness.

So I started Stoats & Weasels as somewhere to put all the puns, daft animals, rude jokes and colourful ideas that probably wouldn’t make it past a client meeting. The result is a growing collection of greeting cards designed to make people laugh, say something lovely, or occasionally shout “TITS” in a shop.

Some are sweet. Some are silly. Some are a teeny tiny bit rude. Sorry Mum. Well, sorry not sorry.

My inner child is very much alive and apparently enjoys fart jokes, silly noises and drawing cat bum holes. The grown-up me does occasionally get a look-in though, so there are plenty of cards you can safely send to your nan.

I live near the sea in (sometimes) sunny Brighton with my husband Alex, a very talented photographer, and our two black and white cats, Squiggle and Doodle – belly-rub tarts extraordinaire.

A few of my favourite things:

  • Beige food. And cheese.

  • Watching raccoons eat grapes on the internet. Also baby porcupines eating sweetcorn. And beavers eating lettuce.

  • Silly noises. Any silly noise will do. I regularly snort at my own.

  • Swimming in the sea. Well, mostly floating about in it. Even in winter. Yes, I own an enormous coat. And yes, I will probably mention that I swim in the sea in winter.
